yes, read the thing in sequence
not too mention of course, I Dream of You is my favorite collection, its what got me hooked for life. The story does progress as written, and you will miss cool stuff if you don't read it all, like Darth said. luck, and welcome to hell
its that whole waiting for the next issue that does it you know. just sitting on your fingers trying not to whine... *whine* wink
anyway, don't mind me, and enjoy the story. stay and have some oreos. smile

I am just starting to read SIP and purchased "The Collected Strangers In Paradise: Volume 1" This comic really interests me. I need to know what to buy next. I am going to go with trade paperbacks. Do I proceed to by the Volume 2 Series(I Dream of You, It's a Good Life), or do I skip to Volume 3, the current volume, and buy only Volume 3 trade paperbacks? Will I be lost if I jump from Volume 1, straight to the "Love me Tender" collection, then to the other paperbacks, then eventually to the current stuff? Sorry, this is confusing, but this comic is really interesting, and I could use some help.

Yeah, start with I Dream of You.
Collected v1 reprints the 3 issue Antarctic Press ltd. series. it sets the stage, introduces the players and such, but the real action starts in I Dream of You. If you skip it, you will be sad and confused and end up going back to get it anyway. Plus I Dream of You won't have the same impact if you read it out of sequence.
I really suggest you read them in the order published, it's for the best. So much of the foundation of the story happens in IDoY it really shouldn't be skipped.
    hope this helps....
    Darth
